6PR appoint new night host

6PR are moving their mid dawn presenter, Chris Ilsley, into nights to present Nightline.

Ilsley replaces Graham Mabury who announced his retirement in March after 33 years on 6PR. Mabury will finish up on June 4 with Ilsley taking over from June 5.

Chris said: “Graham is a broadcasting legend and I’m humbled to be given this fantastic opportunity. It really is a great honour."

Fairfax Radio Network Perth GM Martin Boylen said: “Chris is very well known to our listeners as host of our Perth Overnight program during the week and also for his work filling in for Graham over the years. He’s an accomplished broadcaster with much to offer our engaged audience of Perth listeners at night.

“It was never going to be easy to replace an icon like Graham but we’re delighted Chris has seized this opportunity.”
