When Tony McManus was sacked from 6PR late last year, Perth personality Jane Marwick (left) was announced as his replacement on the afternoon shift (see here).

Just over 6 months later and she is leaving the station due to family reasons.

Perth Now have spoken to Marwick who said:

“This is a very demanding job and due to family commitments I am unable to do either position justice at this time. I wish my friends at 6PR every success.”

The Sunday Times in Perth revealed last weekend that former Freo captain Peter Bell (right) could be the new 6PR afternoon announcer, this has now been confirmed.

6PR GM Martin Boylen said, “We feel Peter has great talk radio potential – he has an amazing intellect, a fantastic sense of humour and is well known in the Perth market."

Bell said, “I’ve faced some challenges in my life and there’s no doubt live radio is up there with the biggest of them. I’m really looking forward to this new chapter in my career with a lot of excitement and just a touch of trepidation."
