Hit Network announces Tanya Hennessy for Weekend Breakfast
Tanya Hennessy will host Weekend Breakfast across the Hit Network for 2018.
The comedian and radio star will begin hosting her own show nationally from 7am – 9am Saturday and Sundays, and is set to feature a regular rotation of guest co-hosts.
An exciting rising talent across radio, YouTube and social media, 2017 saw Hennessy win the Video Junkee Breakthrough Award and the Commercial Radio Australia – Best Documentary award, as well as being nominated for Cosmo’s Woman Of The Year.
“It’s been my dream to do a national radio show. I’m seriously pumped and grateful for the opportunity,” said Hennessy.
“The only thing I’m worried about is that the metro shows are filmed so I may have to put some effort into my appearance. Jokes! Expect a non-supportive bra, no make-up and a messy bun with pastry in it. But seriously I’m stoked!”
Hennessy has been part of the Hit Network for six years, having started out in Griffith.
More recently she formed one half of Canberra Hit104.7’s Weekday Breakfast as Ryan and Tanya, and Saturday Breakfast with 2DayFM.
“Tanya never shies away from having a laugh at herself and has a relatable and refreshing approach to life,” added Hit Network head of content Gemma Fordham.
“We can’t wait for Australia to wake up with Tanya and kick-start each weekend the right way.”
Tanya Hennessy can now be heard from 7am – 9am on Saturdays and Sundays across the Hit Network .
Only 2 hours ?????? wtf ????
It is a shame Tan has been warehoused by the networked and not given a decent drive or breakfast show somewhere.
SUPER PROUD of this chick!!!!!!
This seems like a perfect move for Tanya! Getting to do regular, national radio, but having enough time to do all the online content she clearly loves doing as well!
Well done Tanya. Well deserved. Look out Australia!
Exactly! Why can’t Weekend Breakfast run till 10 am!?! I’m sure Tanya could easily smash another hour!
Relegated to weekends like Dan and Maz shame
Hey, great stuff. I’m sure she deserves it, but there goes another 30 odd country stations that young aspiring jocks can’t get a weekend break on! Live ‘n loc…… oh, oops, hang on.
