Today marks another major broadcasting milestone, with 3AW’s Denis O’Kane celebrating 60 years in radio.

O’Kane has spent the majority of his career at the Melbourne talkback station, which he describes as being like a second home.

Today, 3AW Breakfast aired a special montage segment in honour of O’Kane.

Late last year, at the age of 77, he stepped away from full-time newsreading and reporting, but continues to do casual shifts at the station.

O’Kane began his news career on Victorian country radio, moving onto roles in Adelaide, Sydney and Melbourne’s 3XY. He was also News Director at Fox FM.
