30 Under 30: “You never know what doors it could open for you”

Reporter

Still tossing up whether to enter the Radio Today 30 Under 30 Awards?

The advice from those who’ve already won is: Just do it.

ARN Music and Programming Manager Jake Powell tells Radio Today one of the greatest rewards has been the recognition.

“Radio Today’s 30 Under 30 is a brilliant initiative that I have greatly benefited from in my career.”

“Peer and industry recognition is valuable in such a relatively small media landscape. It is like getting a blue tick on Twitter (that you do not need to pay for)!”

“I am a ‘radio nerd’ and being able to see the all the other young, passionate radio/audio nerds talking about how much they love the medium is very encouraging for an industry that is constantly assumed to be under threat.”

“It really is worth applying for. You never know what doors it could open for you!”

Nine Radio producer Jacob Pittolo agrees.

“Being recognised as part of the 30 Under 30 was a real personal success for me.”

“Many people in radio do start in the industry very early on. So for me, while I am in my 20s, it was a great reminder that there is still so much of my career in radio to go.”

“The awards for me also gave recognition to the work we do on 2GB Afternoons with Deb Knight.”

“Being recognised by those in the industry for the work I have been a part of is really special.”
