2UE targets a new generation

Staff Writer

Tonight sees the return of Brian Carlton, aka Spoonman, to the airwaves in Sydney on his new 2UE program called 'The Stir'.

2UE's Acting Content Director Clinton Maynard (pictured) has told staff in an internal memo that his objective is to attract a new generation of talk radio listeners;

"The program aims to cause a bit a 'stir' on a Sunday evening. It will look back on some of the issues of the week, but focus more on stories that haven't been touched or have gone under the radar"

"Brian will bring his unique style to the program and we hope tap into the army of Spoonman fans who've missed him since his departure from Triple M"

"While maintaining our current audience the aim of 2013 is to attract new generation of talk radio listeners and given Brian's success on Triple M"

"I'm confident we can give his loyal audience a taste of what 2UE is all about".

The new show 'The Stir' starts today at 6pm.
