2SER launch new breakfast show

Staff Writer

2SER in Sydney are launching a new breakfast show on Monday that, for the first time, will be hosted by a fulltime, paid presenter.

Tim Higgins is a Macquarie University graduate and has been a 2SER volunteer doing a weekly music and talks program and hosting the stations Australian music show: The Band Next Door.

Tim has also interned on ABC702’s Evening program with Robbie Buck and has produced Fran Kelly’s Radio National Breakfast show.

Tim said: “Breakfast radio is such an important time slot. 2SER is the perfect place to do something fresh and engaging at that time that hopefully will start people’s day off on the right foot. 3.30am wake ups may be tough and my coffee addiction might spiral further out of control, but I’m up for this exciting challenge!”

2SER PD Anthony Dockrill said: “Our new breakfast program represents the final part of our programming revamp. 2SER is giving our listeners what they want, when they need it, with programming targeting 2SER’s strengths of intelligent and diverse radio."

“After an extensive search for the new voice for 2SER breakfast, I feel very fortunate that we’ve secured one of the most talented people in Australian radio. The people of Sydney will soon discover Tim’s fresh, genuine and local voice to wake up to.”
