2BS celebrate their 54th Christmas Appeal

Staff Writer

Started by the Managing Director of Bathurst Broadcasters Ron Camplin back in 1959, the 2BS / Bathurst Lions Club Christmas Appeal looks to bring the local community together to provide Christmas Hampers to the elderly and less fortunate.

From the 8 hampers delivered in 1959 to 2013 where over 1100 hampers have been packed with 52,000 food items and delivered to over 4000 people, the Appeal is going from strength to strength.

Coordinator Noela Sikora has been organising the event for 26 years. She's a fulltime staff member at the station and devotes a lot of her own time to make the Appeal a success.

Here's what 2BS are involved in as part of the Appeal :-

  • The Bathurst Liquor Accord Charity Golf Day
  • The News on William Trivia Night
  • The Bathurst real Estate Family Fun and Bowls Day
  • Spot the Foreign Object in the Window Competition
  • V8 Tipping Competition
  • Put Christmas in Your Street
  • Schools’ Giving Trees

and lots more.

Congratulations to the entire crew at Bathurst Broadcasters.
