1116 SEN to call The Masters

Melbourne sports broadcaster 1116 SEN has added to its suite of offerings, securing the rights to golf’s Masters Tournament from the fames Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia.

Afternoon presenter and Inside the Ropes host Andy Maher will lead the final two days’ coverage of the Masters on April 7th and 8th as the world’s top golfers vie for the coveted Green Jacket.

Maher will be joined by Tristan Foenander and Golf Australia’s Mark Hayes and together they will bring all the live action to Australian golf fans. The 1116 SEN coverage will also be streamed live on golf.org.au

1116 SEN General Manager Sam Bingley says the broadcast deal delivers on the station’s vision to provide audience with world-class sporting events.

“This is a watershed moment for us to broadcast one of the most famous golf tournaments in the world.

“It confirms our commitment to bringing the best of live sport from Australia and overseas to Australian fans.”

It’s shaping up to be one of the most exciting Masters in years with a rejuvenated Tiger Woods back stalking the greens and playing alongside top ten-ranked players such as Jordan Spieth, Rickie Fowler and defending Masters champion Sergio Garcia.

Aussies Jason Day and Marc Leishman are also expected to give it a red hot go.

Listening to golf on the radio would be about as interesting as listening to grass grow. Why bother ?
