Will & Woody’s surprise Mardi Gras commitment ceremony

Australian Radio Network National Drive duo Will & Woody were in the spirit of love for Mardi Gras last weekend, even pulling off a huge surprise atop a Mardi Gras float.

A listener named Mel reached out to Woody, who is a registered marriage celebrant, to let them know that her partner Stacy had always dreamed of getting married at Mardi Gras.

Ahead of the ceremony, Will & Woody surprised Stacy with the news, to give the pair time to get dressed.

Mid-way through the parade, Woody presided over the commitment ceremony.

“Today we celebrate the love between Mel and Stacey, and we do it all with a flower girl that has a 5 O’clock shadow and a Toy Story Woody, with arseless chaps on a moving float during the middle of gay Christmas.”
