Whooshkaa becomes first podcast platform to meet new IAB guidelines

Australian-based full-service audio company Whooshkaa has become the first podcasting platform to re-certify for full compliance with the latest IAB Tech Lab podcast measurement technical guidelines.

The IAB Tech Lab guidelines aim to bring consistency and reliability to data measurement in the podcast medium. They are now on version 2.1, and act as an important set of standards for the podcasting industry when analysing and communicating data to stakeholders.

In order to achieve recertification, Whooshhka agreed to the IAB Tech Lab undertaking an independent technical audit into its operations.

The audit found that the podcasting platform met all updated standards for the measurement and reporting of key fields such as downloads, listeners and advertising impressions.

Whooshhka CEO, Robert Loewenthal, celebrated the platform as a front-runner in setting the standard for the podcasting sector.

“The IAB Tech Lab Guidelines represent a critically important set of standards for the industry around core concepts such as ‘downloads’, ‘listeners’ and ‘ad impressions’, and how they are measured and communicated to stakeholders,” Loewenthal said.

“The IAB standards are developed and maintained by a respected, independent body in cooperation with industry representatives and enjoy industry-wide adoption.

“Whooshkaa is proud to lead the way as the first platform in the world to update certification to meet the new version 2.1 guidelines.”
