West Coast Radio announces new FM station 91.7 The Wave

West Coast Radio has announced new FM radio station 91.7 The Wave, to launch in October 2018.

The new station will be the next incarnation of the network’s current AM station 1116 6MM, moving the station onto the FM band.

Operated by West Coast Radio, 91.7 The Wave is set to reflect the “great West Aussie lifestyle” with superior sound and reach on FM.

There will be an expanded lineup of shows, a new app to stream the new station in high quality, downloadable podcasts, as well as the latest news, sport and entertainment.

Listeners will also have the opportunity to rate the music, with 91.7 The Wave aiming to act as a local hub for the community.

“As the date gets closer, the team is really excited,” says 91.7 The Wave content director John De Bellis.

“They have been working hard for many months to ensure we produce a great radio station that is 100 per cent local and relevant.

“The broadcast will originate from our local studios with some exceptional on-air talent; we’ll make an announcement about line-up and the launch date soon so watch this space”.
