Warragul Ratings: 3GG Forever Classic delivers biggest gains

Staff Writer

3GG Forever Classic has reason to celebrate in the latest Xtra Insights radio ratings for the Warragul region. It’s now the most listened to station for locals aged over 25.

3GG scored the biggest upward movement in Survey #1 2019, climbing 4.4 percentage points to 10.5% of the available listening audience.

They left ABC Radio Melbourne (8.6%), triple j (7.4%), and ABC Gippsland (7.2%) in their wake.

Hit Gippsland, however, remains the leading station for People 10+, on 13.8% (-1.3).

The Southern Cross Austereo-owned station, previously known as 94.3 Star FM, also maintain the all-important #1 breakfast and drive shows. But 3GG are hot on their heels.

The survey was conducted between September 9 and September 28, and is the first in the region since August 2016.

It also marks the 100th regional radio measurement survey conducted by Xtra Insights, with the new methodology introduced in 2014.

47 different regional markets have been surveyed to date.

“Since the introduction of the regional surveys methodology, we are seeing an increased understanding of the power of commercial radio to reach communities in regional and smaller markets,” said Commercial Radio Australia CEO Joan Warner.

“Each RRAMS undertaken provides vital data that benefits regional stations, local and national advertisers and media agencies and allows them to understand how hyper-local regional commercial radio can speak directly to regional Australians.”
