Kyle and Jackie O make cheeky on-air call to Triple M rivals

There was a time that you would never, ever mention a rival on air. Why kick them a free kick, especially in the tough Sydney breakfast market?

That was then and this is now. This morning, Triple M and KIIS 1065 threw the rule book out the window and hosted an impromptu simulcast.

Kyle and Jackie O kicked off their show with a call to Triple M Sydney’s Grill Team, with Kyle joking (we hope) that perhaps his co-host was perhaps a better fit on the MMMs, given she’d been talking so much about the cricket ball-tampering scandal.

And then there was her choice of a Whitesnake song for the show’s birthday wheel.

The call to Gus Worland, Matty Johns, Chris ‘Pagey’ Page and Emma Freedman went straight to air on KIIS, with Kyle asking the boys if they wanted to ‘buy’ Jackie.

The Triple M team quipped they’d love to, but perhaps the price tag might be too high and maybe, just maybe, it sounded a little like trafficking. They then hatched a plan to swap Gus for Jackie for half an hour.
