Triple M Blankets Bendigo to help the homeless

Homelessness affects people of all ages and from all walks of life.

This month, Cogho & Mandy and the whole team at Triple M Bendigo have been running a blanket drive.

Listeners were asked donate any new or unwanted blankets to the Blanket Bendigo campaign, to help anyone who’s happened to find themselves without a roof over their heads or sleeping rough.

Today – during the morning broadcast – the team took all of the donations to Bendigo’s Queen Elizabeth Oval.

There, they spread them across the ground, seeing how much of the QEO they could cover.

It certainly made for a spectacular early morning sight.

All the donated blankets will now be distributed among among local charities supporting the homeless population of Central Victoria, including Mad Cow, Haven and The Salvation Army.
