triple j Unearthed’s DIY Supergroup goes global

Reporter

Last year DIY Supergroup went hard. This year, it’s going global.

triple j Unearthed formed its DIY Supergroup competition during the height of the first COVID-19 lockdown in April 2020, giving artists the chance to collaborate from their homes.

Now, international heavy hitters have gifted triple j Unearthed with unreleased stems, samples and musical loops.

If you’re an Australian artist, this is your chance to collab with the likes of bbno$, Holly Humberstone, Porter Robinson, Pup, renforshort and Superorganism.

All you need to do is download the sample pack, pick your collaborators and whip up your musical masterpiece.

As bbno$ puts it, “I have spanking vocals stems for you guys. I need you guys to make a song, whatever you wanna do with it. Make it EDM, make it funk, make it disco, make it whatever. It doesn’t matter. Let the world hear it!”

triple j Unearthed says “In the first two years of the competition, Australian artists like Tame Impala, Gang Of Youths, Tkay Maidza, Flume, G Flip and more lent us their stems.”

“Last year, Meanjin based producer Moss took out the comp with ‘SABRE TEETH’, which eventually was officially released as a single featuring Genesis Owusu!”

Enter the triple j Unearthed DIY Supergroup and you could follow in the footsteps of past winners, with your song played all over the airways on triple j and triple j Unearthed radio.
