The Music Network Chart Wrap: October 14

Chart Wrap:

The tug of war between Taylor Swift’s Shake It Off and Meghan Trainor’s All About That Bass continues this week with Swift regaining the lead at #1 and pushing Trainor’s All About That Bassback down to #2. Calvin Harris & John Newman’s Blame remains at #3 for another week, still waiting to make a move into the Top 2. That day may never come if Swift and Trainor’s constant fight for #1 continues over the next few weeks.

A new #5 is seen in the form of Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud. It was only a matter of time before this track broke through that bracket given the ridiculous amount of spotlight and sales he has received in the past few weeks whilst he’s been in the country on his promo tour.  Alesso’s Heroes moves into the Top 10 and reaches a new peak at #8 whilst Jessie J, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj’s Bang Bang just manages to stay at #10 after falling from last week’s #5. Some high movers this week have been Hillary Duff’s All About You which moves up from #40 to #29 and should be breaking the Top 20 in roughly two weeks. One Direction’s Steal My Girl climbs to #24 after last week’s debut at #48 and Avicii’s Addicted To You jumps from #86 to #57, a total of 29 positions and is also this week’s most moved track.
