The Music Network Chart Wrap: August 28

Hot 100

It’s a familiar scene at the top of the Hot 100 this week with Lost Frequencies’’ Are You With Me holding #1 for its third week while The Weeknd maintains his hold on #2 with Can’t Feel My Face. Pia Mia finds a new peak at #3 up from #6 with Do It Again featuring Chris Brown & Tyga, while Delta Goodrem’s Wings makes it into the Top 10 at #9 from #13.

Outside the Top 10 Nico & Vinz see a strong move into the Top 15 at #14 from #26 with That’s How You Know, the same can be said for Taylor Swift’s latest single Wildest Dreams at #15 from debut spot #24. At #16 is Hardwell’s Follow Me featuring Jason Derulo which sees a leap from #41 this week. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis fall just shy of another Top 20 single with Growing Up (Sloane’s Song) featuring Ed Sheeran moving to #22 from #40. Most moved this week is Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud, no doubt cashing in on the feature on Macklemore’s track which is pushing this back up the airplay ranks.

Only one new debut makes it into the Top 50 this week: Jess Glynne’s Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself at #39. LunchMoney Lewis’ Whip It falls just short of a Top 50 debut at #52 while Avicii sees a rather high re-entry at #56 with I Could Be The One.

ARIA Singles

Topping the ARIA Singles chart for week two is Delta Goodrem’s Wings which is now just one week of tying with her previous personal best of three weeks at #1 with Out Of The Blue. Calvin Harris’ How Deep Is Your Lovefeaturing The Disciples finds new life at #2 this week following three weeks spent at #7. Replacing them at #7 is Nico & Vinz’ That’s How You Know featuring Kid Ink & Bebe Rexha which is up from #16, now only five spots short of their career peak at #2, which was achieved by Am I Wrong. Aston Merrygold manages to make it into the Top 10 this week at #10 up from #12, landing him a new peak. Taylor Swift’s Wildest Dreams makes it to #18 from #43 on its second week in the chart, making it the sixth single from #1 charting album 1989 to make it into the Top 20.

ARIA Albums

Cementing last week’s predictions, Bullet For My Valentine’s Venom has taken the #1 debut on the ARIA Albums chart this week, their first ever #1 ARIA Album. They’ve previously seen success on the chart with albums Scream Aim Fire (#4), Fever (#5), and Temper Temper (#4). Debuting at #2 is Dead Letter Circus’ Aesthesis, their third studio album and third to debut at #2. Both aforementioned artists are the only confirmed acts for next year’s heavy music touring juggernaut, Soundwave festival. Following with a #3 debut is Jimmy Barnes’ Best Of The Soul Years. The Waifs are the next debut in the Top 5 with Beautiful You debuting in the chart at #5. Their first album in four years, it falls short of their previous peak at #2 with Sun Dirt Water. The last notable debut enters at #25 with Dillon Francis’ This Mixtape Is Fire.
