The Music Network Chart Wrap: November 25
Hot 100
Adele takes #1 on this week’s Hot 100 with Hello moving up from #2 and overthrowing The Weeknd’sThe Hills. She’s previously charted at #1 with singles Rolling In The Deep and Someone Like You. At #2 is Zara Larsson & MNEK’s Never Forget You, which is up from #5 and marks a new career peak for both artists.
Justin Bieber’s Sorry hits #5 from #8, taking a new peak while David Guetta’s Bang My Head is the only new entry into the top bracket, entering at #10 from #14.
Outside the Top 10, Shawn Mendes’s Stitches continues its steady move up the chart at #13 from #26. One Direction’s Perfect takes #21 from #25. Coldplay’s Adventure Of A Lifetime sees a big jup to #31 from #58 while WSTRN’s IN2 takes most moved at #33 from #86, a total of 53 places.
Three debuts line the Top 50 this week. At #38 is Sigala’s Sweet Lovin at #38 while Guy Sebastian’s new Black & Blue debuts at #45 on its first week at radio. Tiggs Da Author manages to come in at the end of the bracket at #50.
ARIA Singles
Adele’s Hello is now on its fourth week at #1 on the ARIA Singles chart, leading ahead of Justin Bieber at #2 with Sorry for another week. At #3 however might be Bieber’s next ticket to #1, with a high debut coming from his other single Love Yourself, one of four tracks from his new album Purpose to debut in the Top 50 this week and marking the last notable change in the Top 10.
Outside it however are two strong debuts at #17 and #19, Guy Sebastian’s Black & Blue and The Amity Affliction’s Shine On respectively. The latter marks The Amity Affliction’s highest ever peak on the ARIA Singles chart, their previous best being Don’t Lean On Me at #24 which was taken from their #1 charting album Let The Ocean Take Me.
ARIA Albums
Despite midweek predictions of One Direction leading the charge to the #1 debut this week, it’s Justin Bieber who earns the coveted spot with new album Purpose debuting at #1, making for his third #1 album to date. This leaves One Direction’s Made In The A.M to debut at #2. The group’s fifth album marks their first as a four piece and so far is their only album not to top the chart. There is always next week however.
Taking the next highest debut at #5 is Australian hip hop artist Kerser with fifth album Next Step. It becomes his third album to chart in the Top 10 following in the success of King, which peaked at #9 in November of last year. Kylie Minogue’s Kylie Christmas debuts at #7 followed by Conrad Sewell’s debut EP All I Know at #9.
