New Roy Morgan research shows the job satisfaction rate for people who work in radio has fallen.

Just 64% of radio people polled in the Australian Media Benchmark Study said they were satisfied or very satisfied with their gigs, compared with 88% last year.

Despite that, radio people are happiest when it comes to their pay.

The most satisfied media people are those who work in mobile and digital fields.

Google was named the best media brand and media company, as rated by the industry, followed by Seven and Nine.

Nova Entertainment was the highest radio company listed and came in fourth overall. Facebook was fifth.

Roy Morgan Research Head of Client Services Howard Seccombe said: "Now in its second year, the Roy Morgan Media Benchmark Study is fast becoming the measure of excellence and benchmark for improvement in the media industry."

"It provides the media and advertising industry with critical insight into the health of media sales as a career, and also the industry as a whole. What are the key issues for marketers and media agencies now and into the future? Which media channels are faring best in this ever-changing market? Which companies are getting it most right?”
