The aircheck, a samurai sword & a Group PD

Staff Writer

Hamish & Andy's Happy Hour today featured Urban Legends.

They wanted to clear up one they have heard numerous times in the halls of the network.

They spoke with 'Harley Dave' Cameron, Head of Today Network, who they hoped would shed some light on the former Austereo programming boss who apparently took a samurai sword out during an aircheck and destroyed the cassette with it.

Dave told the story about "one of the scariest bosses ever in the radio industry" and when he witnessed the sword in action.

Hamish & Andy then got former Austereo Group PD Jeff Allis, "a slightly better looking Richard Branson", on the phone to talk about the urban legend.

He didn't deny it happened but seemed surprised because he "did much worse than that !" said Jeff.
