The Age & Tony Martin win big at Australian Podcast Awards

The Age’s Wrong Skin and Tony Martin’s Sizzletown have swept the 2019 Australian Podcast Awards.

On the same night as the 2019 Federal Election, podcasters from around the country gathered in Sydney to celebrate their burgeoning industry at the Seymore Centre.

True Crime pod Wrong Skin took out the top gong on the night for Podcast of the Year. The Age podcast investigates the 1994 disappearance and death of two Indigenous young adults in the Kimberley.

Wrong Skin also took out the award for Investigative Journalism & True Crime.

Tony Martin was another multi-award winner for his podcast Sizzletown, taking out the Comedy category and the Yamaha Prize for Outstanding Podcast Production.

Its the second consecutive year Martin has won the Comedy category, last year winning for Childproof.

Leigh Sales and Annabelle Crabb’s Chat 10 Looks 3 won the Literature, Arts & Music and TV, Film & Pop Culture prizes, accepting their awards via video, both engaged in  Federal Election broadcast commitments.
