A taste of what’s to come in the 50 Most Powerful People in Australian Radio list

Staff Writer

Once again, Radio Today has compiled the Top 50 Most Influential People in Radio – and while it’s been released tomorrow morning, we thought we’d give you a little taste of what’s to come.

While departures in some of the top jobs has left room for some major reshuffling, some of the biggest talking points are set to be:

1. There’s a new highest-ranked women

That’s right. While there’s little movement at the top in terms of the men running radio in Australia, we have a new leading lady.

2. One reigning king of breakfast radio has been replaced by another in the Top 10

In shocking yet unsurprising news, one radio king has slipped out of the Top 10 – allowing another big name to sneak in.

3. One CD has moved up six spots, while one breakfast duo has dropped eight spots

Content is king, and this year’s list proves that top shows deliver results for content directors too.

4. A male duo in last year’s Top 10 have dropped out, replaced by a woman on the move

The bottom half of the Top 10 received a nice little shakeup, with a surprising name firmly planted in the Top 10.

5. At least one name dropped off the list completely

Still with the company, but didn’t make the cut.

But that’s the nature of the Top 50 – cut-throat, yet comprehensive. See you all in the morning when the full list is revealed!

If you need a refresher, here’s how the 2016 list looked.
