Staff Writer

Singer-songwriter Iluka will represent Australia at the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) Song Festival which will be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka tonight.

Organisers hope the festival will become the Asian counterpart to the famous Eurovision Song Festival. This year there are entrants from more than 12 countries.

Iluka said: “My Sri Lanka adventure awaits, I’m really looking forward to performing at the ABU Song Festival and representing Australia.”

The Sydney-born artist was named the inaugural winner of First Break, a Commercial Radio Australia and Mushroom Group music initiative and released her debut single 12th of July via Liberation Music (which is a part of the Mushroom Group).

Last year, she performed in front of 1200 radio, music and media executives from around Australia at the 25th Australian Commercial Radio Awards in Brisbane.
