Survived all this time

Staff Writer

Mike Byrne celebrates 25 years in the biz today (and a birthday).

He was presented with the CRA Quarter Century Club Award for 25 years of service to the Australian Commercial Radio Industry.

After doing AFTRS back in the day with his mate, 2GO FM's Mike Duncan (who celebrates 25 years today as well – congrats!) – Like all of us, he served time in many markets, even fitting in Triple M, 2DayFM and Mix1065 in Sydney.

“What a lovely honour. And to have survived all this time and still love my job everyday. Michael Duncan, who'd have thought we make it?” Mike said

Apparently Mike and Mike Duncan are the only 2 out of 12 in their 1989 AFTRS class still in the business.

These days Mike calls Brisbane home and is part of River949’s Breakfast Club with Marnie T.

Mike also said: “A special thanks to Michael Moffett and to everyone I've ever worked with (except those few… You know who you are!)”  – Firmly tongue in cheek!
