Shifting seats at ABC Radio Brisbane

Steve Austin, Kelly Higgins-Devine, Kat Feeney and Rebecca Levingston will all be back for 2024 on ABC Radio Brisbane, but not where they were.

Steve Austin will move from Drive to Mornings. Kelly Higgins-Devine (pictured) from afternoons to Drive, Kat Feeney is back hosting Afternoons and Rebecca Levingston moves from Mornings to Evenings. For Craig Zonca and Loretta Ryan it will be business as usual, on breakfast for a sixth year.

Also for the network, ABC Radio Perth will see Saturday Breakfasts hosted by Amber Cunningham next year, with current presenter Roanna Edwards leaving to focus on her full time corporate role. And, former TV newsreader Kelly Nestor has popped up after 15 years out of the media, filling in on ABC Radio Adelaide Afternoons for the next two weeks.

Steve Austin will shake up Morning Radio in Brisbsne.
This is his second stint on Morningsā€¦.last time he was on Mornings a few years ago he had good ratings figures for ABC.

Having recently moved from Sydney to Brisbane, I really struggle with ABC Radio Brisbane. I was a rusted on ABC fan, but the Brisbane offering is insufferable, with the possible exception of Steve Austin.

Shuffling the deck chairs on the Titanic will hardly do the job.

Time to invest in some improved programming that gets deeper into the Brisbane issues that matter to the community. Until then, I’m going to continue to listen to ABC Sydney on the listen app.

Agree that Steve Austin will liven up mornings…sadly ABC Brisbane has been dumbed-down significantly…needs to get back to tackling newsworthy issues rather than mothers’ group topics, recipe sharing and school dropoff zone dramas.
