Shameless Media creates exclusive podcast with LiSTNR, The Books That Changed My Life

Former Editor & Content Director

Highly successful independent podcasters Michelle Andrews and Zara McDonald are adding another title to their stable, The Books That Changed My Life.

This time, however, the podcast will be a LiSTNR exclusive, only available on the Southern Cross Austereo (SCA)-owned app.

The duo’s original podcast, Shameless, is out each Thursday and is billed as a pop culture wrap, or a “podcast for smart people who like dumb stuff”.

They recently retired their interview series and replaced it with a Monday episode which revisits old celebrity scandals.

There is also a monthly book club episode.

These iterations of the Shameless podcast remain available across all platforms.

The Books That Changed My Life, however, will only be on LiSTNR and sees Andrews and McDonald return to the interview format, with the duo speaking to the likes of Delta Goodrem, Hamish Blake, Alex Dyson, Jock Zonfrillo, Susan Carland, Laura Henshaw and Kevin Kwan about books which had a profound impact on them.

SCA’s chief content officer, Dave Cameron, said he is delighted to welcome the Shameless duo to the LiSTNR family.

“We have admired their ingenuity and talent from afar and are so pleased they have created a podcast, exclusive to us, that will expand the Shameless offering to their fiercely loyal fans and no doubt garner new fans,” he added.

Andrews and McDonald added: “We adore reading and chat incessantly about the books that have changed our perspective on relationships, work, and life in general. What better way to celebrate this than to chat with the people we admire about the books that made them who they are today?”

The podcast will come out weekly from Tuesday, June 15.
