Staff Writer

Mumbrella has launched a new audio industry conference called Audioland.

It has come about as a response to the growth in the audio industry overall and is set to explore topics including content creation, distribution, marketing, industry trends, new technology and more.

SCA head of podcasting Grant Tothill has been tapped to take part in a panel about how to take an idea and turn it into a podcast hit.

He’ll be joined on the panel by ABC Audio Studios manager Kellie Riordan, and Vice head of editorial and Mumbrella NeXt Award winner, Wendy Syfret.

Other speakers include Eardrum founder Ralph Van Dijk and Group M digital strategy and investment officer Venessa Hunt.

“The audio industry is experiencing a boom period, with major radio networks growing, the popularity of music streaming increasing, the burgeoning medium of podcasting continuing to gain traction, and smart technology with audio at its heart changing the way consumers interact with brands and publishers,” explains a news story from Mumbrella.

“Audio is presenting brands with exciting, new opportunities to grow their share of ear, and Mumbrella’s Audioland conference will explore these and more.

“It will feature experts from across the audio industry, including technology specialists, content creators, thought leaders in radio and agencies, among others, to cover every aspect of the industry.”

The conference will go ahead on May 2 in Sydney at the Amora Hotel Jamison.
