SCA appoints Nick Unger as head of TV sales – Sydney

Southern Cross Austereo has secured the services of Nine’s Nick Unger, appointing him as head of TV sales – Sydney.

The announcement was made by SCA’s chief sales officer Brian Gallagher, with Unger moving from his role of group business manager at Nine, leading the broadcast sales trading team.

Unger began his career as a coordinator at SCA, and the network said he was hired after an “extensive” search for candidates.

In his new role, he’ll provide strategic direction to the Sydney TV sales teams, as well as supporting national sales opportunities.

“We were dedicated to finding someone dynamic and strategic to lead our high-performing TV sales team,” said Gallagher.

“A key focus for Nick will be building and managing these teams, and an ability to work collaboratively across the board.

“I’m thrilled that we have managed to lure Nick back to the SCA family. He has leveraged his intense enthusiasm and passion for TV and media into a career.

“He lives in the NBN market and will be a strong cultural fit and inspirational leader for the Sydney team.

“Nick is well-known for his ability to develop innovative cross-platform solutions and maximise revenue and market share. I’m sure he will be an outstanding Head of TV Sales for our Sydney team and help lead and nurture the best talent into the future.”

Unger will begin his new role on March 9, 2020.
