SBS marks Refugee Week with two new podcasts

SBS has released two new podcasts to mark Refugee Week.

New Home tells the stories of migrant and refugee women who’ve travelled from across the world to put down new roots in a strange new land.

They’re quietly building new lives in regional Australia, making friends and finding community.

My First Year on Aussie Soil explores what it’s really like to start calling Australia home.

This podcast is hosted by comedian and actor Suraj Kolarkar who, as a youngster, moved Down Under from India and has been obsessed with immigrant stories ever since.

Join Suraj as he delves into tales from people who have found their feet in Australia, sharing their hilarious first impressions, the highs and lows of life in a new country, and the perils of the Aussie accent.

Each has the first episode and a trailer out now. New episodes for each series will be released weekly.
