Same sound, new name for Brisbane Christian radio station

Long standing Brisbane Christian radio station 96.5 has unveiled its new name and brand identity: Rise 96.5

The station has been a trusted soundtrack for many a Brisbane listener since arriving on the FM dial almost 30 years ago.

It says Rise 96.5 builds on that legacy with a name that captures the heart and purpose of the station.

Rise 96.5 CEO Phillip Randall said “This is not the launch of a new station, but the next chapter of the one Brisbane already knows and loves. RISE speaks to hope, resilience and faith. It reflects what we see God doing in people’s lives every day, and what we’re called to nurture through media and our relationship with Brisbane.”

The rebrand follows a season of listening, reflection, and planning involving board, staff and key stakeholders.

This step coincides with the station securing its first permanent home at 6 Moorak Street Taringa in 2025.

While the station’s name and visual identity have been refreshed, it says listeners can expect the same commitment to uplifting music, meaningful conversations, and strong support of local families, churches, causes and community organisations.
