RØDE launches podcasting competition, with over 100 prize packs up for grabs

Former Editor & Content Director

The company which provides the equipment for many amateur and professional podcasters around the world, RØDE, has launched its global podcasting competition, My RØDE Cast.

Over the past two years, RØDE has awarded over $30,000 worth of podcasting equipment and prizes to entrants.

This year, a complete podcasting setup featuring the NT-USB Mini and RØDE Connect podcasting software is up for grabs, as well as more than 100 podcasting prize packs. For a full rundown of the prize packs, click here.

Podcasters must submit a one to two minute mini-episode on any topic and in any style. The format can be a trailer for a new podcast, a condensed version of an existing podcast, or a short and snappy show. Entries must be uploaded to Anchor, My RØDE Cast’s official podcast hosting platform, then submitted to myrodecast.com.

Judges will determine most winners, however there will also be a People’s Choice Award.

Entries will be judged on their creativity and originality, and which ones leave the judges wanting more. They will also be judged on production value, including audio quality, editing skills, use of music, sound effects and other audio elements, plus flow and delivery.

Entries are open now and close at 10am (AEST) on Wednesday, June 23.

RØDE said My RØDE Cast has quickly become the world’s largest podcasting competition.

“I’m thrilled to be a judge in My RØDE Cast again this year,” said Hrishikesh Hirway from Song Exploder, “and to get the chance to hear new, talented voices, and help them develop their podcasts further through the prizes that RØDE is offering.”
