Robbie Buck to host ABC Sydney breakfast

Staff Writer

The new breakfast host to replace Adam Spencer on 702 ABC breakfast will be Robbie Buck.

Buck used to host Evenings on the station in 2010 and 2011 and since then makes regular visits to many segments including Richard Glover's Critics Forum and Linda Mottram's Mornings program.

Robbie said, "It's an incredible thrill to return to the 702 fold."

"702 is a station that's all about connecting. Not just the connection between the announcers and the audience – although that is without par in my opinion – but about the way 702 creates connections between our listeners. The way it taps into the very fabric of this city. It does it in a way that no other radio station can. With empathy, humour and wit but also with the solid weight of serious insight and analysis behind it."

Robbie started out on community radio in Lismore at the age of 12 hosting a classical music show and then went onto host triple j breakfast with Marieke and the Doctor and is currently hosting The Inside Sleeve on RN.

Manager Metropolitan Local Radio, Jeremy Millar said:

"We're delighted to have Robbie back as part of the 702 ABC Sydney team. He's an entertaining broadcaster with a love of life and his natural connection with the local Sydney audience further enhances the station's already stellar line-up. His strong media experience and understanding of a good story combined with his long standing involvement in local community events make him the ideal choice for 702 Breakfast."

His will start on 702 Breakfast in January 2014.
