Coronavirus a hot topic on Gawndy’s radio podcast

Daniel ‘Gawndy’ Gawned has released two new episodes of the Radio Randomly Podcast.

Gawndy caught up with Nova 106.9 Brisbane co-host Kip Wightman about the strange start to 2020 and how the Ash, Kip, Luttsy & Susie breakfast show is tackling the coronavirus on-air.

“It is weird. We had an ad break that was like back in the old days – two ads in a row,” said Wightman. “But you do feel pretty safe in this line of work. I feel like it’s fairly necessary at the moment so that’s nice & it’s nice to feel secure.”

And in the latest episode, Gawndy spoke with Elly Chaney about her new gig hosting drive on 91.9 Sea FM on the Sunshine Coast and how COVID-19 has affected her start to 2020.

“I’m absolutely loving the new gig on the Sunshine Coast but with all this corona stuff going on at the moment my boyfriend and my family tried to get me to stay in Perth.

After my first ever mini panic attack at the airport, I thought ‘no’ I’ve committed to the station and job here and made the decision to stick with it,” said Chaney.

“I’m not a quitter and the people here at the radio station have been great with supporting me. I also don’t want to take this opportunity for granted.”
