Radio ad revenue down after 9 months of growth

Advertising revenue has softened slightly in November ending nine months of consecutive growth.

Total revenue reached $63.498m, 1.27% down on the same period in 2012.

By market, Brisbane reported the largest increase, up 2.31% to $10.239m, while Perth rose 0.43% to $9.200m. Sydney was down 0.72% to $19.690m with Melbourne also down 1.79% to $18.909m. Adelaide fell 9.95% to $5.460m.

The figures for the first five months of FY14 are up in all markets aside from Adelaide. Melbourne lead the way, up 4.88%. Overall metro radio ad revenue is up 2.99% to $301.710m so far this financial year.

The Deloitte figures report actual revenue received by metropolitan commercial radio stations for the calendar month and include all metropolitan agency and direct revenue.
