Programming team reshuffle at Nova: Report

Reporter

Nova Entertainment has reportedly shuffled its programming team around.

According to Variety Australia, Ben Latimer (previously head of programming for Nova in Melbourne and Perth) becomes head of programming for Nova 96.9 in Sydney, Nova 919 in Adelaide and national shows.

The Sydney role was previously held by Peter Clay, who retains his role as head of programming for Smooth.

Andy Ruzgar takes on the dual role of executive producer of Nova 919’s breakfast show Ben and Liam, as well as program manager for Nova Adelaide.

David McClung – former head of programming for Nova Perth – absorbs responsibility for programming of Nova 100 in Melbourne, while former Will and Woody panel op and producer Joel Gelding joins Nova Perth as program manager, reporting to McClung.

Brisbane’s group program operations director Brendan Taylor will continue to be responsible for Nova 106.9 programming.

At the beginning of the year, Nova Entertainment appointed Adam Johnson to the newly created role of Chief Growth Officer.

All of the new head of programming roles will report to Chief Programming and Music Content Officer Paul Jackson.

Again its so nice to see Nova having such a strong female presence..

Considering so many of Nova’s Ents stations are female skewed its so baffling why they wouldn’t put a female in a programming position. #boysclub

Shame

Such a shame there is no females leading any markets, there is some great talent underneath that could be recognised…..

How can the programming be seperate. Nova only does a local breakfast show in every market. Then they syndicate the rest.
Nova has no personality anymore. It’s just a juke box. It’s so predictable. You can predict when add breaks are coming. You can predict what song will be next cause there playlist is so small.

An old school boys club if ever I saw one.
Some markets don’t even have a Content
Director. What’s a Program Manager anyway ?

If you’re one of the few women left in content in Australia, what’s the point honestly? There’s no future for you if female.

Just let the boys have their silly little promotions and focus on a career doing something else. The pay is better and there’s fewer sexual harassment issues.

Not really the “shuffle” past and present employees were hoping for.

Typical comment Boys Boys Boys… you don’t know how they gender identify… it’s comments like yours that continue to undermine non binary and trans people.

How someone chooses to identify is their business and it’s none of yours to comment on an appearance / gender.

Where are the woman ? Don’t women know anything about content ? Sad to see in 2022.

Interesting

Nova isn’t interested in promoting or supporting women. This is further proof. Such a privileged white male culture.

You would think Nova would at least put one token women in a ‘ content ‘ position.
Just to look good.
