Programming changes for 2025 at Sydney’s 2UE

Sydney’s 2UE is introducing a new on-air line up for 2025 as the station positions itself as the city’s new home of Classic Hits.
Cathy Jubb (main photo) will host the Classic Hits Breakfast show weekdays from 6 until 10am.
Trevor Sinclair – who’d been hosting the Breakfast show – moves to the 12-6pm shift on Saturdays and Sundays, with Gareth McCray in charge of Sunday Breakfast.
Sinclair (pictured above) will continue to be heard across the ACE Radio Network on Melbourne’s Easy Music 3MP and its regional stations.
Gavin Miller will host 2UE’s 10am to 2pm shift, with Scott Menz presenting Drive.
ACE Radio says 2UE becomes Sydney’s new home of Classic Hits from today.
ACE Radio’s Chief Executive Officer Mark Taylor says “We cannot wait to wake Sydney up each morning and into the day, with amazing classic hits from the 60s 70s and 80s.”
“If you’re looking for a station that plays the music you love, and that other stations have stopped playing, make the switch to 2UE.”

The presenter shake-up is a bit more surprising than 2UE almost inevitably moving to a Classic Hits format in light of the WSFM > Gold relaunch. But given that Trevor Sinclair finished 2024 with just 1.7% at breakfast (which might be an OK share for one of the sports stations or ABC NewsRadio, but not a mainstream music station), it’s not difficult to understand why change may have been seen as necessary.
Going by what I’ve heard of her 2UE afternoon/drive shifts, Cathy Jubb’s on-air style is pleasant enough but isn’t the kind of presenter who’s likely to make a major impact in the ratings. I kind of feel a Classic Hits breakfast needs on-air talent with more of an “Up and at ’em!” style, rather than a less local version of what Bogart Torelli is doing on Smooth.
Having said all that, it won’t surprise me if an ex-101.7 voice or two manages to surface on 2UE (most likely in the key brekky and morning shifts) once ARN move towards networking Gold shifts between both major cities.

As a baby boomer I no longer enjoy 2UE the selection of music is disapointing
always loved hearing Trevor and Garath voices and their selection of music.
Its a shame they have moved them to the weekend , looks like a bad move ?
The worst move ever to get rid of Trevor and Gareth, I now only listen to 2ue when they are on. I’m disappointed that no one plays 50’s like 2ch did so when I’m not listening to those two I play my own 50’s cd’s . So many people switched to 2ue when 2ch went off air, you need to bring in 50’s as well.
