Power 100’s Archie takes the bull by the horns for The Black Dog Institute

The buck stopped with Power 100’s Archie Arenson last weekend when he got around 800kg of bull to raise money for the Black Dog Institute.

Archie rolled the dice at North Queensland’s Ingham Sugar City Rodeo after being challenged by event organisers and local MP Nick Dametto.

Taking part in the charity ride section of the night, Archie went toe to toe with the locals and Nick.

The night was a success, raising a total of $4,000 for the Black Dog Institute that will go towards helping mood disorders such as depression, anxiety and bipolar disorder.

Archie and MP Nick Dametto also had a little side wager to see who could hold on longer, with the winner taking home a bottle of rum.

Archie was victorious, and is now the undisputed champion of bull riding (in radio).

Challengers are welcome.

With 1 in 5 people having symptoms of mental illness in any given year and only 60% of those affected seeking help, everyone will have at least one person  in their sphere that’s in need of assistance.
