Power 100 on the hunt for a new brekkie host

Staff Writer

With the departure of Jess Hardy from Townsville’s Power 100, breakfast host Vinnie Aston is looking for a new partner in crime.

The station has opened the position to local listeners in a new competition – Power 100’s Apprentice – with the winner joining Aston from 5:30am weekdays.

Ten individuals will battle it out in challenges throughout the week to earn the position.

Challenges include promoting the Power 100 brand, looking for the biggest celebrity to be interviewed by Aston on-air, raising the most funds for a chosen charity, and more.

Content director Jason “Wolfie” Wolfgram said: “We’re doing our bit for the economy and employing a local who’ll receive the training and skills necessary to live their dream of working at Power 100.”

You can catch Power 100’s Apprentice from 8:30am throughout the week. From Monday, the top five contestants will co-host the show with Aston from 7am to 9am, and the final two will be announced shortly after.
