Piccolo unveils podcast advertising platform Podshare

Sydney’s Piccolo Podcasts and Media has announced the launch of a new digital platform to connect independent podcasts with suitable brands looking to advertise via the medium.

The platform aims to streamline the podcast monetisation process for creators, and will allow companies to connect directly with targeted audiences through the means of host-read ads, unboxings, reviews and guest interviews to promote their brands.

Podcasters will be given full control on the platform and can decline any sponsorships that don’t fit their content strategy or moral viewpoints.

The platform doesn’t come with sign-up costs or listing fees for creators. Instead, it takes a 30% cut of revenue when ads are purchased by a business.

Piccolo Podcasts founder, Andrew Menczel, said that Podshare would reward the hard work of local creators and help them capitalise on their independent podcasts.

“As podcasters ourselves, we understand the incredible creativity and hard work that goes into putting a podcast together, and we want podcasters to be rewarded for that,” Menczel said.

“Our platform will make it easy for brands big and small, local and international to find your podcast and sign up to advertise with you.”

Podshare is encouraging small podcasts to sign up to the platform ahead of its official launch, which is currently slated for late 2021.
