Peter Williams joins NZ Retro Weekly Top 40 Countdown

Reporter

Starting this weekend, legendary local broadcaster Peter Williams will hit the airwaves as part of the New Zealand Retro Weekly Top 40 Countdown with Rob Walker.

Williams will be heard across New Zealand and overseas, presenting the Retro Sports Headlines as part of the syndicated radio show.

Each week, the show looks back at a corresponding month and year, counting down Top 40 hits on the NZ singles and album charts during the 1970s, 1980s and early 1990s.

It’s now heard on 40 locally owned and independent radio stations across New Zealand, and claims as many as two million listeners tuning in each weekend.

Who has made this up? As many as 2 million listeners? The biggest radio station in NZ has just over 700,000 listeners on the whole station, per week.
If this show has 200 hundred listeners that would be more believable.

Where did you get that data from!? Not even 2mill New Zealanders would listen to radio full stop in a weekend let alone one unproven radio syndication.
This is misleading. Is it even proven in GFK? This needs a fact check. Highest rating network in NZ over a weekend only reaches around 300,000.
40 local stations – where? What stations? There isn’t that many locally operated stations left in nz.
What a joke. This would luckily reach more than 10-20,000
