NZME expands their MIX brand

Staff Writer

NZME will launch MIX 91.7 in Christchurch on June 15. The MIX brand first appeared in Auckland in June 2014 with a format aimed at 30 to 54 females with an 80’s and 90’s mix. The Christchurch station will follow suit  also delivering 50 minute music sweeps each hour.

Mix Content Director, Raylene Ramsay says the team is thrilled to launch Mix in Christchurch and offer people an exciting music alternative.  “We identified a market opportunity in Christchurch to create a station that meets the musical tastes of 30-54 year olds. Mix 91.7 will play Madonna’s Like a Virgin to Coolio’s Gangsta’s Paradise. We’re finding all the best songs from the 80’s and 90’s and then pressing shuffle!”

Christchurch will prove a tough market with MediaWorks MORE FM leading the pack in the music battle for the market based on NZME’s own independent audience research earlier this year.
