NZ’s Survey #1 for 2015 Cancelled

Staff Writer

Here in Australia the first GfK Metro Survey window opens Sunday, but in New Zealand their planned first survey for 2015 has been cancelled.

New Zealand has two survey windows a year and the planned survey for Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch was scheduled for February and March.

NZ’s Commercial Radio industry body,  Radio Broadcasters Association has pulled the pin on the first round to allow them some time to review options and research methodology on offer from their current and other providers in the market place. TNS was their 2014 provider but according to reports the contract with them lapsed last year with the last round in October.

The Radio Broadcasters Association includes NZ’s major networks MediaWorks and NZME. Unlike Australian surveys in New Zealand they do not include government radio network stations like Radio New Zealand in their results.

Their planned second survey for 2015 that includes smaller markets nationwide will go ahead in August and September.
