Nova’s Ben & Liam pay homage to Adelaide with icons mural

Reporter

Nova 919’s Ben & Liam have paid tribute to Adelaide’s landmarks, icons and personalities by commissioning a respected local artist to paint the most South Australian mural ever – Ben & Liam’s Adelaide Icons mural.

To mark the occasion, Ben & Liam are broadcasting live this morning from the Elizabeth City Centre – the new home of the Adelaide Icons mural – where SA Premier Peter Malinauskas will officially cut the ribbon.

South Aussies are passionate about their home state, and in another bucket list moment for Ben & Liam, the boys commissioned local artist Mike Sander to create the masterpiece.

The mural features South Australian icons including Farmers Union Iced Coffee, the Big Rocking Horse, the Scottie statue (minus Ben & Liam’s infamous googly eyes), the Malls Balls and the Pigeon, giant pandas Wang and Funi, plus many more.

In addition, the mural features two of South Australia’s most iconic personalities – Channel Seven newsreader Jane Doyle and Olympic gold medallist Kyle Chalmers.

Jane is on site with the boys this morning for the official opening.

The mural is located on the eastern wall of the Elizabeth City Centre.

Great work lads, it’s good to see a community initiative being supported celebrating some of SA icons.
