Nova Red Room swoons for Sam Smith

Staff Writer

There aren’t too many artists who can say they’ve performed in Nova’s Red Room multiple times, but English singer-songwriter Sam Smith is one of the lucky few on that list.

Last night he treated the crowd of listeners and music industry’s finest to an intimate performance, backed by vocalists and a band.

In between his songs Sam Smith mesmerised the audience as he shared the personal stories behind the songs he performed, and thanked the audience for making his album The Thrill Of It All and radio favourite ‘Too Good At Goodbyes’.

NOVA Entertainment executives in attendance included NOVA Entertainment’s CEO Cathy O’Connor, Group Programme Director Paul Jackson, Chief Marketing & Digital Officer Tony Thomas, Sydney General Manager Luke Minto.

Hosted by Nova’s Greg Burns, Sam Smith was the second artist to perform in Nova’s Red Room for 2018 following on from British legend, Liam Gallagher, who performed last week in an intimate show at The Lair in Sydney’s Metro Theatre.

The entire performance of Nova’s Red Room with Sam Smith will be replayed across the Nova Network at 8pm tonight (Tuesday 16 January).
