Nic McClure becomes senior EP for LiSTNR’s original podcasts

Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) has created a new role for its LiSTNR Original Podcasts business unit which will be filled by radio producing stalwart Nic McClure.

McClure will become senior executive producer for LiSTNR Original Podcasts, and will be charged with developing and producing new original podcasts and overseeing news-based titles such as Your Morning Agenda and The Briefing. 

She will also onboard new podcast producers and work with the existing LiSTNR Original Podcasts producing team.

McClure started her radio career in 1996 with SCA and has since led programs across various networks including The Kyle & Jackie O Show, Kate, Tim & Marty, Merrick & Rosso and the Hot 30 Countdown. 

She rejoined SCA just over one year ago as executive producer for on-demand audio, overseeing the development and launch of The Briefing, which recently celebrated its first birthday.

Her new role will see her report to LiSTNR’s head of news and entertainment original podcasts, Sam Cavanagh, and head of specialty and feature podcasts, Jennifer Goggin.

“Nic is one of the most experienced and respected executive producers in the industry. We are so excited to work together as LiSTNR continues its growth in original podcasts,” Cavanagh said.

Goggin added: “Nic’s experience, passion for audio, creativity and attention to detail make her the perfect fit for this role as well as the LiSTNR Original Podcast team as we continue creating premium original podcasts.”

McClure, meanwhile, said she was looking forward to the role and working with the team.

To be creating new and compelling content and helping develop our talented LiSTNR Original Podcast team with [general manager of digital audio] Grant [Tothill], Sam and Jen, well, what a force to be reckoned with.”
