Survey 1 : KIIS/Kyle & Jackie O #1FM

The results from the first metro survey of 2014 have been released. While 2GB and Alan Jones remain on top in Sydney, the big stories come out of the FM side. Kyle & Jackie O have launched on KIIS 1065 with a 9.3%, but in an interesting twist have tied with WSFM's Jonesy & Amanda for #1FM breakfast. Nova breakfast is next on 7.8% while 2Day breakfast has launched with a 3.8%.

KIIS 1065 is also the #1FM station in Sydney on an 8.4%, 0.3 in front of #2FM station WSFM. Nova and smoothfm take the next spots. 2Day FM are 7th FM with 4.0% and last in the FM battle. Nova's Kate, Tim & Marty now have the #1 drive show in Sydney.

In Melbourne 3AW remain on top but it's a closer battle with the ABC this survey, there's only 1.3 in it at the moment and breakfast is closer too. Fox FM kept #1 FM (8.5%) with the new breakfast duo of Fifi & Dave kicking off with #2FM, 0.1 behind The Hot Breakfast on Triple M.

Nova 100 are 4th on 7.9%, 0.1 in front of Gold. Nova's new breakfast show, Meshel & Tommy launched with a 7.4% and 3rd FM behind Fox and MMM.

Triple M dropped back 1.2 overall and are 6th on 6.8%. Equal 7th in survey 1 were Mix 101.1 and smoothfm, both on 6.5%.

To Brisbane and 97.3FM have regained #1 from Nova 106.9. Nova have come back to the pack a bit and are now 1.5 off that #1 spot they held. B105 have jumped up a couple of spots to 3rd with a 10+ result of 10.1%. Equal 4th was Triple M and triple j, both on 9.4%. 5th and 6th go to ABC612 and 4KQ respectively. 4KQ in particular had some strong demo and daypart lifts.

97.3FM has also regained the #1 breakfast spot and are 0.1 in front of Spencer Howson on ABC612. This has pushed Nova back to 3rd with only 1.1 separating the top 3. Nova drive with Kate, Tim & Marty are also #1 in Brisbane.

In Adelaide ABC891 are now the #1 station with 13.7% and are 0.3 in front of Mix 102.3. FIVEaa has grown and are now 3rd with increases across all dayparts including their new breakfast show. Nova went up 0.5 to 11.6% and are 4th overall. SAFM drop back 0.7 to 5th and Cruise1323 also drop and sit in 6th spot.

Breakfast rankings remain unchanged at the top with ABC (19.1), FIVEaa (16.5), Mix (13.5), Nova (11.1), SAFM (6.6) and Triple M (6.0) making up the top 6. Nova's Kate, Tim & Marty also have the #1 drive show in Adelaide, nearly 3 points clear of sister station FIVEaa and well clear of Mix 102.3

Finally to Perth and no major change in rankings 10+ with Mix 94.5 staying on top with 14.9% nearly 3 points clear of Nova 93.7 who are on 12.0%. triple j increased 10+ share to 11.7% and are now 3rd overall just in front of 96FM (11.6). ABC720 sit on 10.7 and 92.9 on 8.4.

The top 3 at breakfast remain in the same spots with ABC720 #1 on 15.5%, Mix 94.5 on 13.5% and Nova 93.7 on 11.5%. triple j's Matt & Alex are up to 4th in Perth on 11.0%, 96FM breakfast is now 5th on 10.4% (up 1.7) and 6PR drop to 8.7% and are 6th. Heidi, Will & Woody's first full survey result saw them 7th overall on 7.4%.

Nova drive have a #1 in Perth too but now only 0.1 in front of Mix 94.5 drive (this survey was Lisa Shaw and Tim Lordan, Fred Botica is now back on-air with Lisa).
