NEWFM to go Adele free this Friday
NEWFM listeners have voted to remove Adele from the station’s playlist this Friday.
“I love NEWFM but there’s too much Adele,” said one listener.
So, with the boss’ blessing, from 12 am Friday, absolutely no Adele will be played on the Newcastle station.
“This is a huge call,” argued CD Joel Thompson.
The much-anticipated new album from Adele, titled 30, her first in six years, was released last November.
The album debuted on top of the ARIA Albums Chart with the lead single ‘Easy on Me’ also topping the ARIA Singles Chart.
Nine other songs from 30 also debuted in the singles chart, with ‘Oh My God’ and ‘Can I Get It’ both cracking the Top 10.
The move to boycott Adele for 24 hours coincides with NEWFM’s Feel Good Friday.

Seriously if you don’t like Adele that much there’s always a option to change radio stations! To my opinion that listener is nothing but a Karen!
@Ty don’t get me wrong, I love Adele but her song is over-played to the point it is just annoying. So much so that I do change the channel. However, her song will then be played on the other channel aswell.
The term flogged out, is CHR born. And I don’t blame them.
Unflogged songs is a feature on River 949 some weekends.
