The latest edition of the Australian Podcast Ranker sees former Hit Network duo Hamish & Andy return to the #1 position, as Kyle & Jackie O move up into second.

The PodcastOne Australia-hosted show rises one spot for the latest reporting period from October 28 to November 24.

The Triton Digital-produced podcast ranker also sees The Kyle & Jackie O Podcast jump to #2 on, while Kate, Tim & Marty and two podcasts by SEN/Crocmedia round out the Top 5.

The latest rankings are released as Commercial Radio Australia announcers the incoming addition of new independent publishers to join the Australian Podcast Ranker in 2020.

Will Anderson and Charlie Clausen, producers of hit series TOFOP will be included among three new publishers.

The others include Schwartz Media, who produce The Saturday Paper and the 7am daily news podcast, and The Parent Brand, creators of the Babyology and Kinderling Kids Radio brands.

“TOFOP Productions is a proudly independent Australian podcasting network,” said Anderson.

“It’s important to us that independent creators are represented in the ranker alongside shows produced by media networks.

“When Charlie and I started our first podcast nearly 10 years ago, we had no idea podcasting would grow into the industry it has become.

“Our hope is the Australian Podcast Ranker helps raise the awareness of Australian shows, and attracts new advertisers, so more people can make an income talking about dumb sh*t with their best mate.

TOFOP Productions also produces Wilosophy, TOFOP and the 2 Guys 2 Cup podcasts.

“We’re pleased to welcome these very successful independent publishers to the Australian Podcast Ranker,” said Joan Warner, chief executive officer at Commercial Radio Australia.

“Their participation further consolidates the ranker as a collaborative cross-industry initiative that reflects the growth and diversity of this exciting medium.”

Kyle and Jackie number two up against national stats like Hamish and Andy and our best national drive show Kate, Tim and Marty. Shows the power of K&J’s Sydney show, ranking so high against national talent. Why doesn’t ARN put Kyle and Jackie on national breakfast. Does seem like the time is right with Melbourne KIIS doing so poorly and 973 axing their breakfast show. 96’s initiall success in Perth is music & format driven, with respect Fred won’t be around on breakfast much longer. Some of these markets are starved for quality content and there is no question that Kyle and Jackie’s show is world class broadcasting.

Hey Paul you can’t spell. Only a matter of time before breakfast networking.

Is it though @Lee?

People have literally been saying this for a decade and the only network that moved to network breakfast during that time was ACE.

Show us some proof, don’t make outlandish statements coz BACK IN MY DAY IT WAS BETTEEEEEEEEER

KJ have gone up because in the last couple months they’ve started releasing short podcast segments in addition to the usual daily 2 hours+ one. This is fantastic for those of us who don’t have the time for the full show but still want to hear the big interviews and content.
