New podcast series unearths Australia’s best untold stories

ARN’s iHeart and Indigenous Podcast Network BlakCast have announced the debut of a ground-breaking new podcast series called Find and Tell.

Hosted by Jamila Rizvi, Find and Tell takes audiences on a quest to unearth the next generation of diverse storytellers – think of it like one of those TV singing competitions, but without the singing.

It’s a talent search for people from all walks of life – including those with no media or broadcasting experience – to try their hand at podcasting.

Hundreds of entries were received from aspiring podcasters all over the country. After narrowing it down to the final four, they were flown to ARN’s iHeart studios in Sydney for a podcasting bootcamp. They were also provided with professional-grade recording equipment from RØDE, received some essential financial support and were paired up with their own iHeart producer.

The contestants’ mission was simple: to unearth and share the nation’s best untold stories.

Jamila Rizvi says “It’s been an absolute privilege hearing the stories our contestants have shared. Their generosity, vulnerability and raw talent has been enormously impressive.”

ARN’s Head of Digital Audio Corey Layton says “Find and Tell is an important podcast, helping to unearth the best diverse storytellers in the country. The stories each of them has uncovered is astounding, setting each up for a bright future.”

“It’s taken a year to bring this podcast competition concept to life, and partnering with iHeart to make it happen with BlakCast is still a dream come true” says Mundanara Bayles, Founder and CEO of BlakCast. “I’m thrilled with the four contestants who will compete each week in Find & Tell.”

Find and Tell is available now with new episodes dropping weekly on the free iHeart app. Find the series here.
